Rooted in craftsmanship and designed with intention, the Twist Coat Rack is a statement of functional art. At home in an entryway, storefront, or bedroom, feel free to put this statement piece to work wherever needed. Its surface is alive with carved texture; subtle ridges and grooves that run its entire length; each line bearing the marks of the maker’s hands. No two will ever be alike. 

The base is fabricated from solid steel by local metalworkers. It offers not only stability but a striking contrast to the warmth of the wood. Matching steel accents on the hangers echo this industrial touch.

This piece is a true exhibition in connecting the artisan to the consumer. From the exposed welds on the base, to the imperfect irregularities on the hand-carved post, it all communicates the craftsmanship that goes into each and every piece. The Twist Coat Rack doesn’t hide how it was made—instead, it celebrates it.

If the Twist Coat Rack is intended for use with outer wear that may be covered in rain or snow, please choose one of the powder coated steel options. Blackened steel has a waxed finish, while being resistant to liquids, may discolour or rust over long term exposure and is not recommended for exposure to the elements. Warranty may be forfeit under improper use.

The tooling for this item is purposefully used in an aggressive manner to leave the wooden surface with a rustic, grainy texture that varies depending on which wood species you choose. Oak, with its loose grain structure, becomes VERY textured from this process. Maple on the other hand remains on the smoother side, while walnut falls somewhere in between the two.
